Name issues

De Smet is a common name in Belgium. That’s why I choose to act with a nickname (Smetty comes from De Smet) on the web.

Today Smettie is hot. Boudewijn Bouckaert refers with this name to Yves Desmet from De Morgen.

I didn’t like it while I was reading the story (doesn’t matter that he wrote smettie with “ie”). My name is to common, my nickname abused and my first name is linked to the XXX-industry.

Should I go for a total name change? Any suggestions?
