The audio quality of my last podcast was really poor. Audacity (audio software) helped to pump up the volume, but this resulted in high background noise.
My first idea was to buy a small amplifier. But tomorrow, I’m going to record a panel discussion with 3 people. I’m on my own to record the whole thing, so that’s why I decided to buy a mixer with two Mic preamp’s. My new toy is a BEHRINGER Eurorack UB 1002 (70€).
Done some testing this afternoon. It took some time to find out, but everything works fine. Hope I will be able to repeat that tomorrow. One thing is guaranteed: it looks impressive with all those buttons

Zo’n mengpaneel is wel goed voor microfoondiscussies. Maar als je van plan bent om er ook muziek en stem mee te mixen, denk er dan aan dat je eigenlijk digitaal-analoog omzet analoog mixt, en dan terug analoog-digitaal omzet. Voor het mixen van stem met muziek blijft een softwarematige mix volgens mij toch beter.

I suppose you can connect that mixer to the line-input of your PC, but not to the input of your Nomad Jukebox, since it probably has no line input?

The Nomad does have a line input. It’s a an old and big mp3 player, but on the other hand a really functional device.

Een meer dan degelijke speler.
Intussen heb’k toch al Giga’s aan opnames gemaakt met m’n Jukebox en gebruik hiervoor een Sony ECM-ZS90 stereo micro en het (op moment van aankoop) bijgeleverde FM Wired Remote (waarmee mono opnames mogelijk zijn).
